NutrientCalcium
Calcium is a mineral your body needs for strong bones and teeth. Daily requirements range from around 800 mg (young children) to 1500 mg (older adults, teenagers, and postmenopausal women), and up to 2000 mg per day is safe for most people. Getting calcium through food is preferred; supplements are most useful for people over 50 when combined with vitamin D, though an increased risk of kidney stones should be factored into the decision.
