We handle your personal data with care. Below you can read which data is processed when you visit LongevityWatch, what it is used for and on what legal basis.

This site runs as a Cloudflare Worker. The provider is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States. When you request a page, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data in server logs, including your IP address, the date and time of the request, the URL requested, the amount of data transferred and your browser details. This is done to deliver the site and to keep it secure and stable.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a working and secure service. Transfer to the United States takes place under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

For anonymous audience measurement we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It works without cookies and does not build profiles that follow you across devices. Only aggregated figures are collected, such as page views, referrers and a rough device category, without identifying you as a person.

Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

We use Mailchimp (Intuit Inc., United States) to send our newsletter. If you sign up, we process your email address. Sign-up uses double opt-in: you first receive an email asking you to confirm.

Legal basis: your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every newsletter. Transfer to the United States takes place under the standard contractual clauses.

If you submit a question, we store the question itself, the email address you provide and the language of the site you submitted it from. That data is held in our database at Cloudflare.

We use it to answer your question and to let you know when the answer is published on the site. It is not used for the newsletter and not shared with anyone else.

We do not apply a fixed retention period. Your question and your address stay on file for as long as the question is on our list.

To display text consistently we load fonts through Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited). Your IP address may be transmitted to Google in the process.

Editorial content is held in a database at Cloudflare and served with the page. If you only read the site, no personal data is collected from you beyond the server logs described above.

You have the right of access (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18), data portability (Article 20) and the right to object to processing (Article 21 GDPR). Consent you have given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. To do so, email info@longevitywatch.nl.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

We update this statement whenever the processing changes. The version published here is the one that applies.
