NutrientVitamin C
Vitamin C is an essential nutrient obtained through food or supplements. For most people, extra supplementation adds little benefit, but intensive athletes and those on a carnivore diet have a good reason to supplement. Taking a gram or more daily can shorten the duration of a cold slightly, though it does not prevent colds for most people.
